Full name

Amy Curtis Laurence

Amy Curtis Laurence (née March) is the fourth daughter of Margaret and Robert March.

Early life[]

Amy is a little spoiled. She is with her sisters and is pretty much the only one who does not wholeheartedly agree to the sisters' choice to give their mother gifts to ensure their gratitude to her. She later overcomes that greediness and gives her a better gift. After a few chapters, she comes into as much mischief as Jo, like getting struck by her teacher for bringing pickled limes to school, burning all of Jo's beautiful stories for her father to read when he got back from the Civil War because of jealousy, and because of that, accidentally falls into a crack in the ice. When Beth gets scarlet fever, Amy is forced to stay with Aunt March and is bribed by Laurie that she would be able to watch the theatre whenever she likes. She is chosen by Aunt March to accompany her to Europe, much to Jo's dismay.

Later life[]

Amy became a dignified woman and is the only one who wants to marry a rich man so she would not have a hard time in terms of finance but at the last minute turns Fred Vaughn down, and marries Laurie instead. It is said she called him 'My Lord'. She is very happy and gives birth to Beth Laurence, named after her late sister and is absent during the later books due to doing some painting in France.

Personality and traits[]

Amy starts as a young lady who is quite often very much vain and spoiled. Out of all the sisters, she is most probably the opposite of Jo. Though her morals improved throughout the books, she is still obviously spoiled. If you look closer, you will see that Amy is the most practical when it comes to romance in that time, for she understood marrying a rich man is very practical and will grant a life of stability, in contrast to Meg. She later decides that she will not be happy doing that and marries Laurie instead. Amy is rather very intelligent. Even at the beginning, with her selfish demeanour, she reprimands herself for it and truly wants to change. Amy is a little girl who is primary school age but younger than Beth. She is very charming, funny, cute and friendly. She acts younger than her age but is very smart and level headed when she makes herself be. She is very playful and curious and like going on adventures with her sisters. She is more mischievous than Chelsea and unlike Chelsea's innocence and sweetness, she pranks others and gets into trouble, such as when Mr Davis caught her for eating pickled limes in school.

Physical appearance[]

When Amy was first introduced as a twelve-year-old, she was described a tiny child-sized girl as being pale and slender, with blue eyes and shoulder-length blond hair. In the anime, she usually wears braids. She usually wears a graphic shirt with a jumper or a skirt. She is more mature than Chelsea but still very young.

Later on, at sixteen, she came to be considered as "the flower of the family", for she already had the air and bearing of a fully-matured woman whose hair, dress, and every movement embodied genuine grace. Her blond hair was also "more golden and abundant than ever", and with her wide mouth and firm chin, she looked like a person of character. Even after she became a wife and mother, Amy was described as being stately and graceful, and always dressed in a simple yet elegant style that always gave others the impression that she was "the best-dressed lady in the room".

About[]

Amy has lots of best friends which are also available to buy as dolls. Her friends were sold after the first Amy dolls were created in 2011. Special dolls were sold until 2015. In 2014, a new line, Amy and Friends were made and included 24 dolls, two were different versions of Amy and the rest are her friends. The line included Malcolm, similar to Tom, which was the very first male Amy doll created. As of 2015, Amy dolls now have painted tops and removable skirts/skorts instead of removable outfits. Amy dolls are still sometimes sold with outfits. In 2017, a new line named Amy's Club was introduced with 12 dolls with larger eyes. Formerly, there were no Little Women separate outfit sets for Amy: all Amy outfits were sold with dolls. In December 2018, Amy doll clothing accessory packs were released. Each pack has a different theme and usually includes an item of clothes, shoes and accessories. There are six fashion packs available such as bedtime, spring day, dance, party, roller-skater and bathtime. All Amy male dolls sold since 2017 have moulded hair and come with removable outfits.
